The US troops that came from Iraq and are now actually working in the US and they are engaged in running checkpoints and they also deal with some incidents of civil unrest and crowd controlling. All of this is actually being done under the Nothcom program and by next year there would be a least number of twenty thousand active troops in the US which would be helping the state in cases like rioting Americans. It has been seen that rioting Americans have been pretty tough to control by the local authorities and they have caused a lot of devastation, in some cases like football fan fights we have witnessed a lot of violence. In the past we saw the military troops in the Katrina period, at that time they were working for the confiscation of private arms that were owned by the residents and the troops joined hands with FEMA and the local law enforcing authorities in that process.
The step taken for controlling rioting Americans would show its results when practically applied, we can say that the actually the States are in a type of martial law as the forces are asked to do a number of such duties. This whole thing should not be connected with the actual war that is taking place in Middle East and Afghanistan, there are a lot of differences between the two cases and they should not be mixed. In this case the military is only working in order to control the small state matters.
