Tropical Storm "Ondoy" has reached Pampanga provinces as it crosses Central Luzon while on its way to the South China Sea, weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday afternoon.

Packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 100 kph, PAGASA said Ondoy was in the vicinity of Pampanga as of 4 p.m.

The storm has slowed down, moving west northwest at 13 kph. It was expected to head back sea and move near Iba town, Zambales province by Sunday afternoon.

Nathaniel Cruz, PAGASA’s chief weather forecaster, said the storm was expected to exit Luzon through Pangasinan by Saturday night.

Pampanga and other provinces including Bulacan, Rizal, nothern part of Quezon, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Tarlac and Zambales have been placed under public storm warning signal No. 2.

Places under Signal No. 1 were La Union, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Aurora, Pollilo Island, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, the rest of Quezon, Lubang Island, Bataan and Metro Manila.

Power supply has been cut in majority of areas placed under the storm warning signals.
