Veteran radio telecaster Percival Mabasa, all the more prominently known as Percy Lapid, was shot dead in his vehicle in Las Piñas City, local police revealed Monday night.

As per Las Piñas City Police, Lapid was gunned somewhere near two armed and unidentified suspects at the entryway of a region along Aria St., barangay Talon Dos.

"One of the renowned commentators on radio and a previous telecaster of DWIZ 882 KHZ AM, Percy Lapid, was ambushed and died in Las Piñas City at past 8 tonight," individual radio telecaster Marou Sarne posted on her web-based entertainment account Monday night.

Reports said one suspect was on a bike while the other was ready a white Toyota Fortuner.

Lapid facilitated a radio news critique program on DWBL 1242 called Lapid Fire where he conveyed hard-hitting analysis of seen misuses and inconsistencies by the public authority.
