Today is the 2010 Haiti Elections and it was officially opened as early as 6 a.m. Despite of cholera epidemic, voter confusion and political tensions, the election still goes on.
Haiti needs a strong leader who will take the country forward, put an emphasis on economic growth, stand firm in the face of adversity, and change the nation to the best it can be . But along with the peaceful start of the election in Haiti, 12 Haitian presidential candidates calls for the cancellation of the election following with numerous cases of fraud and irregularities in many polling stations wherein many of the voters could not vote.
According to the reports, some of the polling stations opened very late and some are still closed. Added to that, there are many cases of frauds such as ballot stuffing, voters are not listed in the registered list of voters, lack of electoral materials, election ID late distribution, and etc. These are the reasons why the 12 presidential candidates held a press conference and call for the cancellation of the election.
